About Us

 

Society for Environment and Development, (India) popularly known as “SEDINDIA” was founded in 2000 by an inspired group of scientists and social scientists, economists and engineers of India. SEDINDIA was founded as a non-government, nonprofit, consultancy and research organization. The SEDINDIA is an interdisciplinary research organization and it's dedicated for environmental, social and developmental issues.

 

SEDINDIA is registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act XXXI of 1860.  It is governed by a Governing Body consisting of eminent educationists and professionals, scientists and social scientists, economists and engineers, advocates and experts. 

 

The avowed objective of SEDINDIA is to train qualified professionals to shoulder the responsibility of contributing to the development of India as a “Knowledge Society” and all have their role to play a significant role to find sustainable solutions for environmental issues and socio-economic development. SEDINDIA has succeeded in establishing a platform for interdisciplinary research.

 

SEDINDIA has following arms

            (I)         Action Group for Environment

            (II)        Centre for Socio Economic Development

            (III)       Centre for Architect and Development

            (IV)      Centre for Legal Opinions and Advice

 

The saga of SEDINDIA” has published quarterly journal “Environment & We: An international Journal of Science & Technology (EWIJST)” which is Started in year 2006. The key mission of EWIJST is to foster sustainable development by supporting peer-reviewed interdisciplinary and disciplinary research on science & technology, developing scientific capacity, capitalizing on development experiences, promoting policy dialogue, and strengthening networks within the community.
