Climatic resilience is the ability of human and environmental systems to endure, rebound from, and adjust to the effects of climate change. In order to achieve it, environmental management must take into account the possibilities and difficulties. Major climate change challenges are rising temperature and extreme weather events; sea-level rise and coastal erosion; water scarcity and changing precipitation patterns; loss of biodiversity and ecosystem disruption; social and economic inequality; and vulnerability. It is high time to use the opportunities i.e., transitioning to renewable energy sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions; implementing sustainable land-use practices and reforestation efforts; investing in climate-resilient infrastructure and urban planning; promoting ecosystem-based adaptation and natural solutions; supporting climate-resilient agriculture and food security; fostering international cooperation and climate governance; developing and deploying climate-resilient technologies and innovations; encouraging climate-resilient water management and conservation practices, etc. By addressing these challenges and opportunities, we can work towards building a more climate-resilient future for all.

Twelve chapters covering various aspects of the regional and global influence on ecosystems make up the current volume ‘Climate Resilience: Challenges and Opportunities in Environmental Management’. These chapters address the main issues of the climate smart framework for environmental sustainability, sugarcane production technologies for changing climatic scenarios, the dynamics of climatic change and its impact on living organisms, green building technology as an essence for environmental sustainability, and health issues. Use of spatio-temporal land use and cover change assessment; marine microbes as early warning indicators of climate change. The role of urbanisation and rural solid waste management constraints are highlighted. Prominent researchers in the fields of ecology, biodiversity conservation, disaster management, and environmental sustainability contributed these chapters. In addition to being a very helpful general reference for studies on climate change and disaster management, the book is meant for use by researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students working in the fields of pollution, disaster risk reduction, and agriculture.

The volume's editors extend their gratitude to all the contributors and truly hope that it will serve as an useful resource for academics and students doing research on environmental sustainability and climate change.
